Talks between the Clippers and Boston Celtics about a possible mega-deal that would send Coach Doc Rivers and forward Kevin Garnett to L.A. again have reached an impasse, according to several NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly.

And again, the Clippers are saying they’re prepared to move on if they can’t hire Rivers, and are looking to continue conversations with candidates Brian Shaw and Byron Scott this week, the executives said.

Shaw, associate head coach of the Indiana Pacers, on Tuesday is scheduled to meet for the second time with the Denver Nuggets about their head-coaching vacancy, one NBA executive said.

Then Shaw is to meet with Clippers owner Donald Sterling on Wednesday. Shaw interviewed face-to-face with the Clippers last week, but this will be his first sit-down with Sterling, executives said.

Scott, former coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets and New Jersey Nets, is scheduled to meet with Sterling on Tuesday, the executives said. Scott also met with the Clippers last Tuesday but didn’t talk with Sterling, the executives said.

Former Memphis Coach Lionel Hollins remains in the mix, too, the executives said. Hollins, who met with Sterling last week, will interview for the Denver job Wednesday, the executives said.

The Clippers are seeking a successor to Vinny Del Negro, whom they fired May 21 after a disappointing first-round playoff exit.
