Ohio State (so far) is boycotting wrong letter in Michigan showdown

Ohio Gov. John Kasich enouraged Ohio State fans to boycott the use of the letter “M” as a way of showing support for Saturday’s classic college football showdown against Michigan.

“We do hereby recognize Saturday, November 30, 2013 as ‘Scarlet Letter Saturday’ throughout Ohio,” the Kasich’s resolution said. “[We] encourage all Ohioans to avoid using the letter ‘M’ when possible.”

So far, though, Ohio State is boycotting the letter “D” (as in defense) against Michigan.

Ohio and Michigan were tied 21-21 at the half. No. 3 Ohio State (11-0) has already given up 303 total yards to unranked Michigan.

The game has been marred by three first-half ejections. Ohio State starting tackle Marcus Hall made obscene gestures with both hands as he exited Michigan Stadium.

They sort of looked like dotted “i’s”.

If Ohio State get its second-half act together, it might end up boycotting the letter “W” instead of “M.”
