Papa John’s apologizes for ad congratulating wrong Super Bowl champs
Better ingredients. Better pizz... wait, who won?
The NFL Network and the Esquire Network are running commercials for pizza chain Papa John's in which the company is congratulating the Seattle Seahawks on their back-to-back Super Bowl championships, which is nice, but of course inaccurate.
Odds are, spots were made for each of the two teams, and the wrong one is being shown.
"A mistake was made and the wrong ad ran on a cable channel yesterday," the company said in a statement. "We apologize to both sets of fans for the confusion, and congratulate both teams for a game well-played.”
