R.D. White Elementary School was evacuated Monday morning after someone called in a bomb threat, officials said.
The threat was called in anonymously at about 9:30 a.m., according to police. It did not appear to be serious, but as a precaution, police are searching the campus in the 700 block of East Doran Street, Glendale Police Capt. Todd Stokes said.
Students were evacuated to the Whole Foods at Glendale Avenue and Lexington Drive.
Glendale police said all 880 students were accounted for.
Parents who wish to pick up their children may do so at the Whole Foods parking lot by checking in at the intersection of California and Glendale avenues, according to police.
[Updated 10:30 a.m.: Glendale Unified Deputy Supt. John Garcia said students and staff would not be allowed back onto the campus until it has been cleared by police and Glendale Fire.
"We have no idea how long that's going to take," he said.
In the meantime, a mass call-out system has notified parents about the incident and invited them to pick up their child from school for the remainder of the day.]
