Glendale police plan sobriety checkpoint for Friday

Share

Glendale police this week announced plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday at an undisclosed neighborhood.

Officers will be inspecting motorists for any signs of intoxication during the checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Police will also check for valid driver’s licenses.

Motorists found to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be arrested and their licenses suspended.

DUI fees can exceed $10,000, police warned.

Roughly 1,000 motorists have been arrested on suspicion of DUI in Glendale this year as of October, according to the Glendale Police Department.

That number is up from 617 arrests for the same period last year.
