An 80-year-old male was hospitalized with serious burns after a fire ripped through a commercial property in Sun Valley near Bob Hope Airport Saturday morning, authorities said.

At 11:18 a.m., Los Angeles firefighters were called to Hollywood Engineering -- which stores live ammunition and blanks for movie shoots -- regarding a blaze that burned through the one-story commercial building, said Los Angeles Fire Deptartment spokeswoman Katherine Main.

Close to 100 firefighters knocked the blaze down in 36 minutes, Main added.

The property, located in the 10600 block of Arminta Street sits near the northern edge of the Burbank airport.

The cause of fire remained under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
