A Thousand Oaks man was arrested early Monday after his vehicle struck a parked car and sheared a street light, causing a passenger to be ejected from his vehicle, police said.

Roberto Martinez, 22, was taken into custody on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol after he failed to pass a sobriety test at the crash scene, Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

He reportedly crashed into the parked car and clipped the street light at 12:32 a.m. at Evergreen Street and Victory Boulevard in Burbank. At some point, a passenger in Martinez’s vehicle was ejected, Ryburn said.

Martinez’s passenger, who was identified as a 20-year-old Sun Valley woman, told police that she woke up to discover she was no longer sitting inside the vehicle.

She suffered a 1-inch cut under her left eye from the crash, and was taken to Providence Saint Joseph’s Medical Center for further observation, Ryburn said.
