A 27-year-old driver who rammed his vehicle into a parked car Thursday then fled from police was identified Friday by authorities as Saequon Winston of North Carolina.

At 1:50 p.m., a police sergeant directed Winston to pull over in the area of Lake Street and Verdugo Avenue after hearing two people arguing inside the vehicle, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

When the sergeant turned onto Lake to conduct the stop, the vehicle had fled.

Authorities located the vehicle two blocks away, where it had reportedly slammed into a parked car.

Witnesses told police the motorist ran from the scene and he went in between two nearby apartment buildings.

Winston was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is due in court Monday.

A 20-year-old Reseda woman who was a passenger in Winston’s car was transported to a local hospital for treatment of facial injuries, Ryburn said.

The vehicle, which belonged to Winston’s friend, was registered in Virginia, but had California license plates, Ryburn said.
