Public input sought on proposed bikeway

City officials are seeking the public’s input about a proposed bike and pedestrian path slated to run adjacent to the Burbank Western Channel from the downtown Burbank Metrolink station to Alameda Avenue.

A community meeting about the project is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. this Wednesday in Room 102 of the Administrative Services Building, 301 E. Olive Ave.

According to city officials, the project will “expand the city’s bicycle network as a high-quality bicycle and pedestrian facility, as well as enhance the condition of the channel.”

The project would include constructing a 12-foot-wide path with two local street crossings where Providencia Avenue meets Lake Street and Verdugo Avenue, along with a grade-separated crossing at Alameda Avenue.

At the meeting, city officials will provide an overview of the project and give the public an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.
