[UPDATED 4:10 p.m.] A student was airlifted from Valley View Elementary School in La Crescenta on Wednesday after a fall, authorities said.

Glendale fire officials were dispatched to the school, located at 4900 Maryland Ave., at 10:47 a.m., said Brandy Villanueva, spokeswoman for the Glendale Fire Department.

After assessing the situation, paramedics requested air transport by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which arrived at 11:13 a.m., said inspector Rick Flores with the county fire department.

Glendale Unified Supt. Dick Sheehan said the student did not suffer any major injuries from the fall, which occurred while she was standing in line on campus.

“She was in line and basically passed out,” he said. “She was disoriented at first and then it’s my understanding she was coherent and communicative.”

As a precaution, authorities airlifted the girl, along with her mother, to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

At around 4 p.m., Sheehan said the girl had been released from the hospital and was resting at home.
