Jobless rates drop in Glendale, Burbank

Unemployment rates in Glendale and Burbank declined last month with educational and health services as well as motion picture and sound recording driving most of the job gains across Los Angeles County, according to the latest labor report.

The jobless rate in Glendale decreased by 0.5%, coming in at 7.4%, while it dropped by 0.4% to 6.3% in Burbank, according to statistics released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.

Statewide, the unemployment rate was 6.7%, down from 7% in January, and 8% in February 2013.

The jobless rate in the La Crescenta-Montrose area was 4.3%, a 0.3% decline, and 4.1% in La Cañada Flintridge, a 0.2% drop.
