Sports Roundup: Glendale High tennis notches Pacific League win

Glendale 14, Pasadena 4: Glendale won all nine doubles sets in a Pacific League home match Tuesday.Glendale got a sweep in doubles from Kellie Gong and Ruth Kachatorian (6-2, 6-0, 6-0). Natalie Shamma swept in singles (6-3, 6-1, 6-1) for the Nitros.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 15, Immaculate Heart 3: The host Tologs (3-5) began Mission League action Tuesday with a victory at Fremont Tennis Center. On Monday, the Tologs picked up a 17-1 nonleague win against La Salle.

Burbank 12, Hoover 6: Visiting Hoover won six doubles sets, but fell Tuesday in a Pacific League match. The Tornadoes dropped to 6-4, 3-3 in league. Hoover’s Sarah Kim and Jessica Chung won their sets, 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, and Angelina Khourdajian and Raquel Piloyan won, 6-1, 6-4. Tamar Chavdarian and Elen Chtchyan also added a 6-4 win for Hoover.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Westridge 3, Flintridge Prep 1: Host Flintridge Prep saw Westridge post a 25-16, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21 Prep League win. The Rebels (2-7, 0-3 in league) got eight kills and five aces from Dani Motte, 24 digs and three aces from Lauren Stiles and six kills and four blocks from Rachel Benn.

L.A. Sacred Heart of Jesus 3, Holy Family 1: The Gaels began Horizon League Tuesday with a 25-17, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20 home defeat at Pacific Park Community Center. Holy Family dropped to 0-5.
