At least one gallon per day, per person and pet for three days
Keep enough food to feed each person four times a day. If the power goes out, food in the refrigerator is good for four hours. After that, don't eat it. Keep the fridge door closed as much as possible. And don't forget about pet food.
Pre-made first aid kits are easy to get, but can be more expensive than building one yourself (see below). Supplies should be simple and made for your family's needs. Think about everyone's disabilities and conditions when making your kit.
