Holiday happenings across the Midwest
Here are some of the more interesting events, deals, websites and other travel tidbits that have come across our desk recently:
•The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wis., holds its annual Old World Christmas Market on Dec. 2-11. Reminiscent of Germany’s popular Christkindlesmarkts, the event features handmade gifts, toys and ornaments. •The Seiberling Mansion in Kokomo, Ind., is decorated for the holidays and the annual Christmas at the Seiberling event. Through Dec. 30, visitors will view special decorations that this year have a theme tied to favorite holiday songs. On several days, there also will be live music. https://tinyurl.com/z9apz38
•A Christmas-themed arts and crafts show will be held Dec. 5-6 at the Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. More than 300 exhibitors from across the country will offer handcrafted ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, metalwork, photography and more. https://tinyurl.com/jvd35um
•Kenosha, Wis., has plenty of holiday action going on Dec. 3. The Kenosha Public Museum is hosting an International Holiday Faire that will show holidays and cultures of 12 countries and will include an International Bazaar for purchasing gifts. Next door to the museum, the Civil War Museum will present a Victorian Christmas that looks at Christmas traditions during and after the Civil War. https://tinyurl.com/p2fb75o

•The Pfister Marketplace at the historic Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee features the work of more than 60 area artists during the holiday season. In addition to the artwork on sale, there will be artist demos and workshops. https://tinyurl.com/zb4lx23
•Gate 1 Travel has a Classic Russia tour priced from $2,519 per person, double occupancy, including round-trip air from New York. •Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village provides a taste of holidays past for visitors to The Henry Ford complex in Dearborn, Mich. Highlights include costumed presenters, caroling, horse-drawn wagons, Model T rides, Santa with live reindeer and much more.
