Did you make any fitness resolutions for the new year? Here are five wellness events in 2019 that may help you stay on track and offer great travel getaways.

Austin, Texas

SXSW fans can get their pulse racing with boot camp routines or chill with yoga sessions at the outdoor Fitness Stage overlooking Lady Bird Lake. It’s the second year the film and idea fest has added a Wellness Expo.

In addition to the Fitness Stage, the two-day event will feature an Expo Stage, where fitness vendors showcase foods, products and gear; and a Conscious Conversations area to discuss meditation and other wellness topics. A free guest pass gets you in to the March 9-10 expo at the Palmer Events Center.

San José del Cabo, Mexico

Here’s a strange mash-up: Work out on Baja beaches with celebrity trainer Jen Widerstrom and then spend time honing your photo skills with two camera pros.

“Through the Lens of Wellness” invites participants to explore Cabo in a new way. The four-day retreat at the luxury Viceroy Los Cabos will lead you on coastal hikes, fitness workouts, guided mindfulness exercises as well as sunrise photo sessions and farm-to-table dining. You’ll also have access to the resort’s fitness center.

The retreat runs Feb. 22-24; $1,525 for solo travelers, $2,255 for two sharing a room.

Yoga, stand-up paddling, beach runs, full-day immersion experiences are some of the activities. “Eat, Pray, Love” author Elizabeth Gilbert, MC Yogi, Corinne Bailey Rae and Paul Izak, as several other fitness gurus and entertainers will appear.

Huntsville, Utah

The Pursuit Series calls its three days of outdoor mania “an outdoor adventure camp for grown-ups.” Mountain biking, yoga, hiking, kayaking, fishing, trail running, meditation — all with guides and athletes who know their stuff — are what you’ll be doing in a mountain setting at Snowbasin Resort in the Wasatch mountains.

By night, happy hours, live music, back-country meals and camp games psyche you up for the following day. The camp runs June 27-30; three-day pass starts at $399.

Telluride, Colo.

The Telluride Yoga Festival is about more than just yoga. Inhale pure mountain air and be inspired by the scenery while you strike your poses. You’ll have more than 100 choices during the four-day festival that includes sessions on meditation, music, hiking, dining, paddle-board yoga and other events.

Participants can make this as earthy as they like, staying in ski lodges and hotels with spas, or setting up a tent at nearby campgrounds. There’s also a free yoga camp for kids for those who want to make this a family getaway.
