Capital One VentureOne card rewards
Capital One offers two VentureOne Rewards cards: one for those with good credit and one for those with excellent credit. The review focuses on the card for excellent credit, which has some different rewards perks.
VentureOne card welcome bonus
The Capital One VentureOne Rewards card comes with a new member sign-up bonus of 20,000 bonus miles. To earn the bonus miles, you must spend $500 or more with the card within the first three months after opening the account.
Earn miles on the Capital One VentureOne credit card
You can continue to earn miles as you use your VentureOne card to make everyday purchases. Cardholders earn 1.25 miles per dollar spent, and there’s no limit to how many miles you can earn.
For example, if you spend $1,000 on groceries every month, you can use your credit card to make those purchases and earn 15,000 miles annually just for funding your life. Just remember to pay your statement off every cycle to avoid unnecessary interest expenses.
Frequent travelers can rack up even more miles. You earn 5 miles per dollar spent on rental car and hotel bookings if you book and pay through Capital One Travel, making this one of the best travel credit cards.
Redeem miles on the Capital One VentureOne Rewards card
Perhaps the best way to get optimal value out of your miles is to use them to book travel through Capital One Travel. You can use price prediction through the app to save on flights. You can also use your miles to get reimbursed for travel you already paid for with your card via a statement credit.
If you’re a frequent flier with a certain airline or belong to a hotel loyalty program, you may be able to transfer your miles to one of those programs. Capital One partners with more than 15 airline and hotel rewards programs to offer this benefit.
Even if you don’t have upcoming travel planned, you can benefit from your VentureOne card rewards miles. For example, you can use your miles to cover purchases on Amazon or with PayPal. Other options for redemption include using miles to purchase gift cards or available merchandise.

How the Capital One VentureOne Rewards card compares
The Capital One VentureOne Rewards card for excellent credit is a fairly basic travel rewards credit card. It offers some good baseline perks and an easy rewards structure, making it a convenient option for anyone who wants to earn miles.
The fact that it has no annual fee may make it attractive to frequent travelers and rewards card enthusiasts, as it can be added to a wallet without any additional expense.
However, there are numerous other credit cards on the market with rewards structures that allow for more value, although some of those cards come with annual fees. Frequent travelers may be able to earn enough rewards with some other hotel cards or airline cards to more than cover any annual fee.
Capital One VentureOne Rewards card vs. Capital One Venture Rewards card
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is a step up from the VentureOne card when it comes to rewards structure and travel perks. You can earn 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 in the first three months with the Venture Rewards card, and you earn 2 miles per dollar spent on everyday purchases rather than 1.25 miles. You also get a $100 credit toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry fees, a $50 annual experience credit and other travel perks.
There’s a trade-off, though. The Venture Rewards card has a $95 annual fee and doesn’t come with any sort of introductory APR offer for purchases or balance transfers.
