DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® rewards

The DoorDash gives you several ways to earn rewards.

Welcome bonus

All new cardholders receive a 12-month complimentary DashPass subscription. DashPass gives you access to $0 delivery fees and reduced delivery fees on your DoorDash orders.

One of the biggest advantages of the DoorDash is that you get the welcome bonus automatically. Many of the best credit cards require you to spend a certain amount of money within a few months of opening an account. With the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard, you don’t have to spend anything at all to qualify for the welcome bonus.

If you already have DashPass, don’t worry. The complimentary subscription doesn’t start until you’ve used up your current benefits. For example, if your current membership expires on April 5th, your complimentary DashPass subscription won’t start until April 6th, so you’ll get the full year of benefits.

Note that your DashPass subscription will automatically renew at the current rate unless you cancel it or qualify for another year of complimentary access.

Earning rewards

The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard also has a simple rewards structure.

You earn cash back at the following rates:

In a typical month, let’s say you spend $125 on DoorDash orders, $200 on dining, $400 on groceries and $285 on miscellaneous purchases.

Here’s what you’d earn:

You’d earn $21.85 just for making your normal purchases.

Redeeming rewards

Chase gives you three ways to redeem the rewards you earn with your DoorDash card. You can apply rewards cash during the DoorDash or Caviar checkout process, buy gift cards or request cash back via direct deposit or statement credit.

If you ask for cash back, you can use the money for anything you’d like, from clothing to first-class airline tickets.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard benefits

The DoorDash credit card comes with several valuable benefits.

Complimentary DashPass

As noted previously, all new members get 12 months of complimentary DashPass access as a welcome bonus.

DashPass comes with the following:

Exclusive discounts

Cardholders also have access to limited-time offers. For example, you can earn 10% back on one DashMart, grocery, retail, alcohol or convenience order per month.

World Elite Mastercard perks

The DoorDash credit card is a World Elite Mastercard, which means you have access to additional perks:

Fees, rates & limit

Although the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is one of the best credit cards for DoorDash, you still need to review the terms carefully.

Here’s what you can expect in terms of the fees, rates and credit limit.

Fees

The Chase credit card for DoorDash has the following fees:

Interest rates

Expect to pay the following rates when you sign up for a DoorDash Rewards Mastercard:

Credit limit

When you apply for a DoorDash Rewards Mastercard, Chase uses the information you provide to determine an appropriate credit limit. The limit depends on your income, credit score and other factors.

For example, if you have an exceptional credit score and a six-figure income, you may qualify for a higher limit than someone with a good score who earns $60,000 a year.

How the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® compares

In terms of fees, the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard outperforms its competitors, as it offers up to 4% cash back on every purchase with no annual membership fee. When you add in the World Elite Mastercard perks, you get hundreds of dollars in annual benefits at no additional cost.

The card falls a bit short when it comes to earning and redeeming rewards, however. Several benefits are exclusive to DoorDash, so if you don’t order takeout frequently, you may benefit more from a credit card that offers more cash back on groceries, streaming subscriptions and other everyday expenses.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card

The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard and the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card both have no annual fee and offer 3% cash back on dining. If you order DoorDash frequently, the DoorDash Mastercard is probably a better fit for your needs, as it offers 4% cash back on all DoorDash and Caviar orders.

Capital One SavorOne Rewards offers 3% back on eligible grocery purchases, popular streaming services and entertainment. In contrast, the DoorDash credit card only gives you 2% on grocery orders and 1% on all other purchases. If you’re looking to maximize rewards on non-DoorDash spending, the SavorOne Rewards card may be a better fit.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Capital One Walmart Rewards® Mastercard®

Like the DoorDash credit card, the Capital One Walmart Rewards® Mastercard® has no annual fee, so the cards are evenly matched in terms of costs. Although the Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard offers 5% cash back on Walmart.com, it only offers 2% back in Walmart stores and 1% on all other purchases.

Therefore, the DoorDash credit card is a better choice if you want to earn extra cash back on your dining and grocery purchases. If you place multiple Walmart.com orders each month, however, consider getting the Capital One card.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Instacart Mastercard®

The Instacart Mastercard® gives you 5% cash back on all Instacart.com and Instacart app purchases. It also offers 5% on travel booked through Chase Travel, 2% at restaurants and gas stations, 2% back on select streaming services and 1% back on all other purchases.

Overall, the Instacart Mastercard outperforms the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard because it offers extra cash back on gas stations and streaming services, plus 5% on Instacart purchases instead of 4% on DoorDash purchases.

Is the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® right for me?

The DoorDash credit card is best for people who order from DoorDash regularly. If you only order once or twice per month, you may not earn enough rewards to justify keeping the card in your wallet.

These other cash-back credit cards may be a better fit if you want more flexibility in earning rewards:

If you’re interested, you can learn more about the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® and apply online. You’ll need to provide your name, contact information, Social Security number, income and other data.

FAQ: DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®

Is the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® worth it?

The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is ideal for people who order from DoorDash frequently. Although you earn at least 1% back on every purchase, the best rewards relate to DoorDash. Therefore, the card isn’t worth it if you’re not a frequent DoorDash user.

Is the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® hard to get?

The DoorDash credit card isn’t as hard to get as the Mastercard Black Card™ or other luxury credit cards, but you do need to have good credit. This card isn’t a good fit for people with low scores who are trying to rebuild their credit after a period of financial hardship.

What credit score do I need for the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®?

Chase doesn’t advertise minimum credit scores for any of its cards. Additionally, your credit score isn’t the only factor used to determine if you qualify. For example, someone with $200,000 in annual income may be approved with a good credit score, while someone with an excellent credit score may be denied if their income is only $30,000 per year.

Generally, you should have a score of at least 670, which is the bottom number in the “good” scoring range. This applies to FICO® scores, not the credit cards generated by other models.

How long does it take to get approved for the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®?

If you fill out the application online, it’s possible to receive instant approval for the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard. Instant approval is only available to consumers who provide all requested information and meet Chase’s strict approval guidelines.

In some cases, Chase needs extra time to review an applicant’s income and credit information before making a decision. If you don’t receive an instant decision, it may take about a week to hear back from the bank.

What is the annual fee for the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®?

The DoorDash credit card has no annual fee, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious consumers who use DoorDash regularly.
