The Salk Institute’s Janelle Ayres, Ph.D. spoke March 2 on “Ending the arms race with infectious diseases” at a luncheon held by The Howell Foundation at Morgan Run Club & Resort. Founded in 1995, the mission of the nonprofit Doris A. Howell Foundation for Women’s Health Research is to fund undergraduate scientists in their relevant research and to educate women to be catalysts for better family health, according to the Foundation’s web site.
