The 50th annual Scripps Clinic Invitational Golf Tournament and Dinner will be held Sept. 13 and 14 to benefit research and innovation efforts throughout Scripps Clinic, whose physician-scientists are furthering scientific discoveries and medical breakthroughs.

The dinner will take place Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Del Mar Country Club, 6001 Clubhouse Drive in Rancho Santa Fe. The event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature a cocktail reception, opportunity drawing, live auction, program and dinner.

The invitational golf tournament will take place Friday, Sept. 14, at the Torrey Pines North Golf Course, 11480 North Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla. It will be followed by a wine tasting, steel drum band, and a cocktail and hors d’oeuvre reception at 5 p.m., and an awards reception at 6 p.m., all at The Lodge at Torrey Pines.

For 50 years, the Scripps Clinic Invitational Golf Tournament has been the signature fundraising event for all clinic initiatives. Since 1969, the event has raised millions of dollars to support lifesaving care at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital. The funds raised through this event, given to the Scripps Clinic Research and Innovation Fund, are vital in moving scientific discoveries to clinical applications and advancing patient care in areas including orthopedics, cancer and neurology.

Tickets to the dinner and golf tournament are $1,450, which includes caddie and cart fees, Maui Jim sunglasses, lunch and two tickets to the awards reception. For more information about the event, visit www.scripps.org/golf, call (858) 678-6349 or email specialevents@scrippshealth.org.
