Yo-Yo Ma headlines at La Jolla Music Society’s WinterFest Gala in San Diego

More than $800,000 was raised at La Jolla Music Society’s WinterFest Gala “Galaxy of Stars,” March 3, 2018 at The University Club atop Symphony Towers in downtown San Diego. A concert featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Emanuel Ax and violinist Leonidas Kavakos followed the festivities in Copley Symphony Hall.

Funds raised will in-part benefit LJMS’s education program, which impacts some 12,000 students throughout the County each year, and will continue to expand as the music presenters move into The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center — still under construction at 7600 Fay Ave. in La Jolla and scheduled to open in spring 2019. Susan Hoehn chaired the gala that was sponsored by Debbie Turner.
