La Jolla resident and Francis Parker Lancer Sterling Hayes, Class of 2018, signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Vanderbilt University. “Sterling is one of the best shortstops at Parker,” Coach David Glassey said in press material. “He also pitches for us, and for the past two years he has been the best pitcher in the coastal league.”
