UCSD students ‘go to the dogs’ for stress relief

A press release from campus noted that A number of studies have demonstrated that petting an animal lowers feelings of stress and improves mood.

“And for most people, dogs just bring a smile to their face,” Iris Crowe-Lerma, program coordinator for Health, Recreation and Well-being, said in a press release.

The tradition has been adopted at UC Merced, UC Davis and UC Riverside and other campuses.
