Gwynn Baseball finishes strong in Super NIT

The Gwynn Baseball 13U team recently finished as the runners-up in the silver bracket of the USSSA Spring Championships Super NIT Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona on March 23-25. In the final, Gwynn lost to the Warriors Elite Chaos from Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Five of the team’s players are Solana Beach residents: Adam Cassar, Ryan Anderson, Win Lyons, Roman Marchese-Culver and Luke Meyer.

Gwynn San Diego Youth Travel Baseball is a league founded by family members of the legendary San Diego Padres player and MLB Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn— Gwynn’s son Tony Jr. is the league president and Gwynn’s brother Chris is the vice president.

The 13U Gwynn team is coached by Jonathan Meyer, a 2009 Cathedral Catholic High School graduate.
