The free event is designed to heighten crime and drug-prevention awareness, strengthen police-community partnerships and let criminals know communities are organized against crime. About 1,500 communities and 37 million people are expected to participate in the nationwide event.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station personnel will appear at the celebration. In addition to free document shredding (eight box maximum), the local event will feature free child fingerprinting, classic cars and several fun giveaways.

The La Crescenta Ralphs is located at 2675 Foothill Blvd., at Rosemont Avenue.
