Paradise Canyon student wins annual Valley Sun Thanksgiving Art Contest

Share

Nina Lidar, 10-year-old La Cañada resident, first place in the annual Valley Sun Thanksgiving Art Contest with her work executed in colored markers that judges deemed best captured the essence of the overall theme, “Thanksgiving in the United States.”

Nina is a student in Mr. Hajek’s fifth-grade class at Paradise Canyon Elementary School. Her entry was one of 162 hand-drawn and colored works received by the paper, which saw participation not only from her school, but also from La Cañada and Palm Crest elementary schools.

The contest, open to fifth-grade students from La Cañada Flintridge who are studying the Pilgrims, is a long-standing tradition that began in 1949.
