Letter: The Kiwanis ride went a long way
Many thanks for your advance coverage of the Kiwanis Dream Catchers’ Filipponi Ranch Cellars Ride a few weeks ago. Here’s a follow-up: There were 19 participants. In addition to providing a gorgeous motorcycle ride along Route 101 through Santa Barbara, the Santa Inez Valley, Santa Maria to San Luis Obispo, the event raised about $2,000 for the Kiwanis Eliminate Project, which is a partnership with UNICEF to rid the world of tetanus.
I also want to express my appreciation for North Shore Burgers, which opened its doors for the ride’s registration and commencement and donated 100% of the purchases during that registration to the Eliminate Project.
