Letter: Reader expresses frustration with power outages

Share

This past weekend we experienced four power outages in our neighborhood. On Saturday, July 12, I spoke with Southern California Edison and the representative estimated the outage to 342 homes in the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club area would last from approximately 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Sunday the power was out from approximately 8 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. in La Cañada, per Edison’s recording, for “maintenance reasons.”

Our power went out Sunday evening and went back on at precisely 8:30 p.m. No wind, no rain, just hot and humid and the power goes out four times because of a “bad cable.” Maybe all the new traffic lights around the Town Center is stressing out our underground cable system — or maybe that’s another story.

If I wanted to live in the woods, I would set up a campsite about 25 miles north of my house. It took me years of hard work for me and my wife to get to my present situation. A beautiful home lit by candles.

To brighter days,

Donald Nunnari
