Countless stacks of books will be offered at bargain prices this month when the all-volunteer group Friends of La Cañada Library stages its semi-annual book sale April 19-22.

Most of the varied titles offered during the event will be priced at $2, according to organizers. Early bird entrance to the sale is allowed to members of the Friends organization; area residents who have not yet joined it can do so for a modest fee in order to have first crack at perusing the selection.

Hours for the sale are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 (open exclusively to members of Friends of the La Cañada Library, which attendees can join on arrival to the sale); 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 21 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22. The sale will be held at the library, 4545 Oakwood Ave., La Cañada.

Funds raised during the semi-annual sales allow the sponsoring organization “to keep our library up to date by having interesting programs for all ages, speakers, new books (hardcover and on tape) and new equipment as needed,” according to a press release announcing the event.
