Local students welcome to apply for CAP Scholarships

The Cañada Auxiliary of Professionals of Assistance League of Flintridge, known as CAP, is offering scholarships for two-year or occupational programs to further the education of students who live in the 91011 ZIP Code.

The $2,000 CAP Scholarships will be granted to students who will be attending a two-year college or an occupational program in the fall of 2017.

Students applying for the scholarship must graduate from high school by June of this year and have maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or better. The recipients will be selected on the basis of merit with consideration given to career goals, achievements, community service and/or school involvement, and character. Selections will be based on references and written applications.

Applications can be downloaded at www.alflintridge.org. A sample is available from counselors and/or scholarship staff at La Cañada High School, Crescenta Valley High School, St. Francis High School, Hillside Learning Center, Renaissance Academy, Village Christian School, Glendale Community College, and Pasadena City College, or from Assistance League of Flintridge, 4607 Oakwood Ave., La Cañada after March 31. The deadline for application is Friday, May 5.
