DAR swears in a new member

Cathy Palermo of La Cañada Flintridge was recently sworn in as a new member of the Don Jose Verdugo Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. Working with Chapter Registrar Lisa Harley, Palermo received confirmation her patriot ancestor had been accepted by the National DAR.

Chapter Regent Lynne Thompson handled the honors of swearing in Palermo and presenting her with her membership pin.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and preserving American history.
