DAR chapter names 5 local students Good Citizens

Five area high school students were recently presented with Good Citizens awards by Barbara Rogers, chairman of the program for the Don José Verdugo Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. The winners were selected by their schools for their outstanding qualities of service, leadership, dependability and patriotism.

This year’s awardees are Lilliana Avaniss-Aghajani, La Cañada High School; Nia Harris, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Christian Yeghnazar, Flintridge Preparatory School; Sebouh Oshagan, Crescenta Valley High School and Lina Petrossian, Clark Magnet High School.

The teens were given a DAR Certificate of Award; Good Citizen lapel pin; a copy of the U.S. Constitution; DAR material and a monetary award. During the presentation, each student introduced their parents and a school representative and spoke about their future plans.
