Parent ed program at LC Presbyterian Church gifts funds to 2 local charities

Two charitable organizations based in Pasadena recently received funds from the La Cañada Presbyterian Church Parent Education Program, it was announced this month.

Harambee Christian Family Center and Elizabeth House were the recipients of just over $4,300 from the La Cañada program, representing 10% of its fundraising proceeds this year.

The LCPC Parent Education Program also raised $3,800 raised for scholarships to program participants through the Founders’ Fund, named in honor of: Annie Latte Krach, Gail Hanson and Claudia Zentmyer.

Additional funds go to other charitable efforts year-round.

The program is gearing up now for its 39th year, which begins in September. It serves families with children from newborn to 18 years of age. In October, it will offer a Evening Tween Class for parents of students in fifth- through eighth-grades.
