USC Verdugo Hills hosts safety-seat checkup event for parents

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., parents of young children are invited to take part in USC Verdugo Hills Hopsital's Safety Seat Checkup Day, where teams of certified child passenger safety technicians will provide free child seat inspections and adjustments.

The event is organized in cooperation with SafetyBeltSafe U.S.A., a national nonprofit organization that estimates more than 90% of the child seats checked during its National Safety Seat Checkup Week in 2016 were used incorrectly, putting children at risk.

Appointments can be made in advance by calling (310) 518-5111, or parents can stop by the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital parking lot, 1812 Verdugo Blvd., Glendale, though those without an appointment may experience long wait times.
