Police go pink at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital

During the first part of this week, Glendale Police Department helped USC Verdugo Hills Hospital mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month by parking a pink service motorcycle near the entrance to the facility.

The officers sold pink ribbons and the hospital’s food services provided pink treats to visitors.

“We’re so excited to be doing this again,” stated Glendale Police Department spokesperson, Tahnee Lightfoot, in a news release issued by the hospital this week. “Anything we can do to shed light on this important health topic and remind women to receive proper screening is of utmost importance. There’s nothing like seeing a police officer on a pink motorcycle to remind you to get your annual mammogram, or to encourage your wife, sister or girlfriend to do so.”

The hospital is offering $99 mammograms this month in its Dixie Lee Ratliff Breast Center, 1818 Verdugo Blvd., Suite 103, Glendale. To schedule a mammogram, call (818) 952-2266.
