Nominations are being sought for this year’s Les Tupper service awards, sponsored annually since 1969 by the La Cañada Flintridge Coordinating Council.

The awards go to individuals, groups and students who provide long-term and broad-based involvement to this community. Qualifications include “demonstrated leadership qualities and roles that bring positive recognition to themselves and to our community,” according to the Coordinating Council’s release seeking nominations.

Nominations, due by midnight on Feb. 6, can be submitted by mail to the La Cañada Flintridge Coordinating Council, Box 264, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91012, or by email to nberkuta@aol.com. Nomination forms can be found at City Hall, 1327 Foothill Blvd., the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce, 4529 Angeles Crest Highway, Suite 102, and the La Cañada Flintridge Library, 4545 Oakwood Ave. They are also available online at www.lcfcc.info.

The awards are named in honor of the late Leslie C. Tupper, who in the 1960s was a civic leader and school board member who cared deeply about education, youth and enhancing the quality of life here.
