Creative minds interested in submitting design concepts for the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Assn. float entry into the 2017 Rose Parade have until Wednesday, Jan. 13 to present their ideas for next year’s theme “Reflections of our Achievements.”

The winning design will be one that is simple and easy to understand, animated with an element of surprise and incorporates elements of whimsy and humor, according to a recent call for entries issued on Friday.

Entries should include a short written description of the design in the space provided on the online submission form, along with the entrant’s name, address and telephone. Drawings will not be accepted, and all entries become the property of the LCF Tournament of Roses Assn. upon submission.

To help dreamers become inspired, the organization provided some context on next year’s parade theme:

“Personal satisfaction with achievements in life is the best measure of success, gained through the support of others by taking chances and challenging inherent capabilities,” accoding to a statement released by the LCF Tournament of Roses Assn. “Reflections of these achievements are what build our character.”

All entries into the design concept contest for 2017 must be received online at lcftra.org or emailed to lcftra@gmail.com by Jan. 13.

The creator of the winning design will win two grandstand tickets to the 2017 Rose Parade.
