Lanterman House Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting the city of La Cañada Flintridge in managing the Lanterman House museum, will present the Jewel City Flute Choir in a fall concert set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 in the historic home’s ballroom.

The Glendale-based Jewel City Flute Choir concert is part of the museum’s Centennial Celebration. Visitors can enjoy seasonally themed melodies especially arranged for a variety of flutes.

Francine Pancost, director of the Jewel City Flute Choir, formed the group in 2011. It now totals 20 members, ranging from full-time musical professionals to those pursuing it as a personal interest. Previously, Pancost led the Foothill Youth Flute Choir and the Los Angeles Music Center’s Active Arts GYCB Flute Choir.

Pancost has performed with the Santa Barbara Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Foothill Artists Trio, and the Five Winds Quartet. In addition, she has performed throughout California as a soloist for the Creative Society and has given benefit concerts for the Glendale branch of the Music Teachers’ Scholarship Fund.

Pancost said the Lanterman House venue is “ a friendly, beautiful place to perform that also has great acoustics.”

Admission to the concert is free with a suggested donation of $5 per person. Visitors are asked to arrive early as seating will be limited to 90 attendees. Lanterman House is located at 4420 Encinas Drive in La Cañada. Parking is available on site as well as in the nearby La Cañada Congregational Church lot.
