The 2016 Rose Queen and her Royal Court will be introduced to those gathered at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club on Nov. 1 when the LCF Tournament of Roses Assn. holds its annual fundraising gala, “An Evening of Wine and Roses.” The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

“All of us look forward to meeting the Queen and her Court as they embark on their busy and exciting schedule culminating with the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day,” stated William Pounders, president of the local float association. “We hope lots of townspeople will join us in this unique opportunity.”

LCF Mayor Pro Tem Jonathan Curtis will serve as emcee and introduce the Queen, Royal Court and their escorts, who will mingle with the guests during the cocktail hour. Festivities include a no-host bar, appetizers, a dual entrée of chicken and salmon, white and/or red wine with dinner, and complimentary valet parking. Cost to attend is $80 per person. Floatique items will also be on display for early Christmas shopping. Live music will be performed by Ernie Hernandez Jr.

The event is co-chaired by Nymia Cucueco and Peggy Hotaling. It will raise funds for the community’s 38th Rose Parade float entry, titled “Up a Creek...” A silent auction will be held throughout the evening, and opportunity tickets to win $1,000 will be available for purchase at $10 each.

To make a reservation to attend this event visit www.lcftra.org. Deadline for reservations is Oct. 25.
