Theft by stolen credit card: 4300 block of Commonwealth Avenue. A man reported that sometime between Jan. 22 and 25, someone used two of his credit cards to make several illegal retail purchases. He said he became aware of the theft the day before, when a bank representative told him a new card has been issued and activated in his name. The victim’s wife told deputies she’d also received a call the day before from a company, asking if she’d purchased a remote-control car from them using a second joint business account. When she checked the account online, she saw other purchases had been made.

Burglary, construction site: 4200 block of Lenzgrove Lane. A general contractor working on an uninhabited home told deputies that sometime between 4 p.m on Jan. 18 and 7 a.m. the following day, someone entered the location and stole several pieces of his equipment, which were being stored in the garage. When the contractor arrived to work, he noticed a French door at the rear of the property was open. Deputies observed no signs of forced entry. Among the items stolen were an air compressor, three saws, a drill and a nail gun.

Shoplifting: 900 block of Foothill Boulevard. A plainclothes loss prevention officer reported that at around 12:20 p.m., he observed a black female, approximately 5 feet 5 and 250 pounds, wearing a black jacket and pants in the company of another black female, about 5 feet 7 and 275 pounds, wearing a cream-colored top and dark pants enter the store carrying empty shopping bags.

The woman got a shopping cart and walked to the section where sheets and towels are located. The officer watched as one woman attempted to obscure the view of the other loading five sheet sets and a pink towel into their bags. The pair then left the store separately without paying for the merchandise.

When confronted, the first suspect ran and got into the passenger seat of a white Chevrolet sedan with the items. The other woman got in the driver’s seat and the vehicle exited eastbound through the parking lot. Deputies ran the car’s plate number and found it was associated with a Pasadena address.

Vandalism: 1500 block of Descanso Drive. A woman was parking her vehicle on the street, approximately 15 feet behind a driveway and about 6 feet in front of another vehicle, when a Volkswagen Jetta station wagon pulled in front of her, not allowing her to pull forward.

When she asked the driver to leave some room, the man exited his vehicle, said she had enough room to pull out and left. The conversation turned into an argument, and the woman said she needed more room or she might scratch the man’s car when she pulled out. The man began to retrieve a stroller from his trunk and said he would hit her vehicle with it if she didn’t move. Then he slammed the stroller down on the hood of her car, leaving scratches and dents on it.

A woman in his company charged at the victim’s mother, who had just gotten out of the vehicle and began yelling at her, saying they had kids in their car. Eventually, the man and woman left, and the victim called the sheriff’s department. The victim’s mother told deputies her daughter requires a lot of extra room when parallel parking.

Shoplifting: 800 block of Foothill Boulevard. A store manager told deputies that at 7:43 p.m. the day before he’d seen a woman and man steal an LG G Vista 2 cellphone from a display counter. Video surveillance footage showed the suspects enter the store, on the lookout for employees while they hovered near the counter display. When they left, the phone was no longer in its designated area. The manager said the pair had removed the unit from its battery cover, which was secured to the counter and was left behind.
