Identity theft: 400 block of Gleneagles Place. A woman reported that sometime between Oct. 22 and Oct. 27, someone used her name, birth date and Social Security number to open accounts with Bank of America, Chase and Capital One. The suspect also allegedly filed a tax return to the IRS in the victim’s name without her authorization. When the woman requested a copy of her credit report, there were three fraudulent addresses on file. All the fraudulent accounts were canceled by the victim.

Burglary, residence: 4600 block of La Canada Boulevard. A woman left her home at around 2:30 p.m. to run errands, locking all doors and windows with the exception of a northwest kitchen window. When she came home at around 6:30 p.m., she saw someone had removed a bedroom window screen and apparently entered the residence.

She reported five designer purses — of the Chanel and Louis Vuitton labels — had been stolen along with unspecified amounts of Korean and Canadian currency in miscellaneous denominations. Deputies observed the window screen had been cut and removed, and the master bedroom had been ransacked in the process.
