Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station hosts ‘Battle of the Badges’ blood drive

The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station is inviting the community to participate in the 10th annual Battle of the Badges blood drive benefiting the American Red Cross. The event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Each year, badge-carrying personnel and their friends and families engage in a competition to see who can donate the most blood. The American Red Cross estimates every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, creating a nationwide daily demand equivalent of about 41,000 blood donations.

The Red Cross Blood Mobile will be stationed in the parking lot of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, 4554 N. Briggs Ave., La Crescenta.
