City Council passes ordinance requiring vehicle stickers for contractors

La Cañada Flintridge City Council members approved Monday an ordinance requiring all licensed contractors conducting work in the city to display a vehicle sticker proving licensure.

The decision was the result of several discussions about how to curb unpermitted and unlicensed construction inside city limits. Effective July 1, 2016, contractors with La Cañada business licenses must annually procure a vehicle sticker for every vehicle used by the licensee, to be placed in the vehicle’s rear window. An exception will be made for any property owner acting as a contractor, as well as occasional employees who drive to a project.

The cost of the stickers has yet to be determined, and will be brought back to the council before any action is taken.
