Two separate incidents in the same electrical circuit left approximately 266 La Cañada Flintridge homes without power for several hours on Friday and Saturday, a Southern California Edison spokesman reported Monday.

An outage was reported at 9:04 p.m. on Christmas night, according to spokesman Paul Griffo. Although the utility’s records do not indicate the exact cause, Griffo said crews were able to completely restore power by 11:41 that night.

At 3:23 a.m. on Saturday morning, an equipment failure was reported in the same area, bordered by Del Oro Drive to the north, Lanterman Lane to the south, Hook Tree Road to the east and west by Hillard Avenue.

In this case, Griffo confirmed the outage was caused by a broken cross arm at a power pole at Flanders Road and Lasheart Drive. It could not be determined whether the damage was caused by heavy winds in and around La Cañada at the time of the outages, the spokesman said.
