Letter: Continued water saving encouraged

Customers in La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta are being asked to refrain from irrigating their lawns for up to 10 days because of infrastructure upgrades to the imported water system.

Water conservation alert signage has been changed to “Red-Critical” as imported water is not available for up to 10 days. Based on weather and demands, Foothill Municipal Water District may have the opportunity to take imported water from a different source to meet demands on or after the fourth day of the shutdown.

Should this occur, we will change the signage back to “Orange-Allocation” and post a notification on our website so that residents may resume watering their lawns according to the drought restrictions placed on them by their retail provider.

Please note that Altadena customers are on a different schedule than La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta residents and will not be able to take water through March 10. Foothill would also like to thank customers for all of the conservation that they have been doing in. Your further cooperation and effort is appreciated during this period.

General Manager
