Letter: Group encourages ‘green’ gardens

In a departure from our traditional landscaping awards by area, La Cañada Valley Beautiful is pleased to present all Green Landscape Awards for the month of March. You’ll find photos of the winning California-friendly gardens elsewhere in this issue of today’s Valley Sun.

Years ago we became aware of Southern California’s drought conditions. We celebrate five years of giving garden awards to low water use landscapes. This month all of the winners have “green” gardens that are water-wise. We encourage homeowners to transition away from thirsty gardens and we honor those who do.
