Letters to the Editor: Riding club president offers thanks, issues invitation

Thank you for the kind recognition of the Flintridge Riding Club by Jane Napier Neely in “The Valley Line” column of Jan. 25.

We are very proud of our 95-plus year history and our unique contribution to the community. We agree with Jane that the Riding Club “is truly a La Cañada Flintridge landmark.”

The club invites the public to join us for many events throughout the year. The 97th Annual Flintridge Horse Show is April 26 through 29. This very exciting show is free to attend with food and vendors onsite. The Flintridge La Cañada Guild of the Huntington Hospital sponsors this show as a fundraiser for the hospital.

FRC will be hosting the LCF Chamber of Commerce Mixer June 21. It will be a beautiful evening on our oak-shaded patio, so please join us. Also in June, MACH 1, Inc., the riding program for people with special needs, sponsors a day of inspiring horse show events, a silent auction and a western-style dinner, not to be missed.

A patriotic way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend might be to visit the club during our colorful Dressage Horse Show and enjoy beautiful horses, accomplished riders and delicious food.

In late September, during our Autumn Classic Horse Show, the club awards the LCF Mayor Perpetual Trophy, graciously presented by the current mayor.

If you would like to do more than watch horses, ask us about our Child and Adult New Rider Program. It’s a great way to be part of the fun.

There is never a charge to attend any of our horse shows, so please come and see us soon. Our landmark Reginald Johnson designed clubhouse awaits!

Suzie Osimo
