Mailbag: Homeland reminder

Re: “Climber’s stateside visit peaks in La Cañada,” Feb. 23.

Thank you for sharing the story of Gomez family. I was born and raised in Tanzania and my folks were born on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was nice to hear good adventure stories of my homeland. I was there last summer to see the burial of my 92-year-old grandma.

Wilbert Mollel (owner of the expedition firm who visited La Cañada) is also a friend.
