Sports Roundup: La Cañada wrestling rallies to beat South Pasadena


La Cañada 48, South Pasadena 28: The Spartans continued their surge with a Rio Hondo League road victory Thursday afternoon.

For a second straight league match, La Cañada (8-1, 2-0 in league) dug itself out of a big hole as the Spartans trailed 22-0 after five bouts.

The Spartans won the final seven matches for 36 straight points to secure the victory as La Cañada secured pins from junior Cameron Carey (145 pounds), junior William Henderson (160), senior Lyndon Forest (182), senior Colman Trulik (220) and sophomore David Martoff (heavyweight).

Brandon Abboud (138 pounds), Ben Donoho (170) and Johnny Vasily (forfeit) earned wins via forfeit.


Chaminade 83, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 28: Flintridge Sacred Heart fell Thursday in a Mission League contest. The Tologs are 2-13, 0-2 in league.
