Sports Roundup: La Cañada baseball turns in strong tournament run

BASEBALL

La Cañada in Anaheim Lions Tournament: It’s been an impressive run for the Spartans, who are 3-1 through tournament action.

The Spartans defeated La Serna, 9-0, on Tuesday thanks to a triple and three runs batted in from Conner Schulz and a double and two runs from Tristan Kalnins.

Previously, La Cañada beat Katella, 6-4, and Hillcrest, 12-5, after opening with a 5-1 loss to Sage Hill on Saturday. The Spartans are 10-4.

SOFTBALL

Flintridge Prep 15, Mark Keppel 5: Flintridge Prep (4-3) picked up a nonleague road win Tuesday. The Rebels received three hits and three runs batted in each from Olivia Stevens and Libby Penn and two hits and three RBI from Maya Vasquez.

Alemany 10, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3: The Tologs started Mission League play Tuesday at home with a defeat. Flintridge Sacred Heart is 9-2.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Alemany 3, St. Francis 0: St. Francis fell, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15, on Tuesday in a Mission League road match.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Loyola 16, St. Francis 2: The host Golden Knights dropped a Mission League match Tuesday at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center.
