Sports Roundup: Flintridge Prep volleyball continues league dominance

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep 3, Firebaugh 0: Visiting Flintridge Prep cruised to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 Prep League win Wednesday. The Rebels (12-2, 3-0 in league) got 20 digs and nine kills from AJ Nicassio and 10 kills from Jonny Samuels. It was the Rebels’ 20th league win in a row.

St. Francis 3, Chaminade 0: St. Francis recorded a 25-21, 25-19, 34-32 Mission League home win Tuesday. The Golden Knights are 5-10, 1-6 in league.

Temple City 3, La Cañada 0: The struggles continued for the Spartans, who dropped a Rio Hondo League road contest, 25-13, 25-20, 25-10, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans are 0-8, 0-2 in league.

SOFTBALL

La Cañada 2, Temple City 0: The Spartans scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pick up a Rio Hondo League victory on Wednesday afternoon.

La Cañada improved to 7-1, 3-0 in league to remain alone in first place.

BOYS’ GOLF

La Cañada 199, Temple City 220: The Spartans won a Rio Hondo League match Tuesday at La Cañada Country Club. La Cañada improved to 3-0, 2-0 in league.

BASEBALL

Glendale 3, Flintridge Prep 3: Flintridge Prep scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to gain a tie in a nonleague game at the Glendale Sports Complex. The Rebels are 8-3-1. The Nitros are 1-11-1.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

St. Francis 73, Chaminade 13: The Golden Knights earned their first Mission League victory on Wednesday. St. Francis improved to 3-5, 1-2 in league.

BOYS’ TENNIS

St. Francis 13, West Covina 5: St. Francis recorded a nonleague road win Tuesday.
